To Tweet or Not To Tweet ... 2009

It's 5:00 am and I have just woken up. What an achievement - my facebook friends definitely need to know - they need something to do if they are also up this early, or earlier - if they have been up earlier, I am sure they have put their wake up time for me to admire! So I run to my laptop - I didn't turn it off last night because I didn't want any boot-up delay in informing my friends of my wake-up time. Alas, my computer has gone into hibernation ... and it will take a long 30 seconds to wake up!

In the meanwhile, Nature calls! Must have been something I ate last night (I had told all my friends what I ate last night before I went to bed). My stomach is hurting ... so, I tweet. I rush to the toilet ... so, I tweet. (My mobile device allows me to tweet from wherever I am - what would I have done without this convenience?) Now I need to concentrate .(tweet) .. push (tweet)... push harder (tweet) ... it's there (tweet) ... almost done (tweet) ... what a relief (tweet)! I return to my laptop. I post "Aahh!" ... the world is guessing ... some "like" it, and leave it at that ... other inquiring minds really want to know ... I get a big kick in keeping them guessing. Let them think it was something really profound - perhaps, it really was!

I look back to my life several years ago. I used to get a little more sleep, as I didn't have the facebook and tweeting responsibilities. I used to look outside the kitchen window, as I brewed my tea to perfection. Then I sipped it while reading interesting items from the newspaper. Nature used to call even in those days. I used to answer Nature's calls even in those days. Quite well, actually, and without anyone's remote help.

But, now, we have become a caring society ... down into each other's bowels. What a sense of belonging! I love it!!
